accidentally hit mine and cracked it while playing Wii bowling. How much will a new screen set me back?? I feel like an idiot since I got it repaired a week ago from one of the hinges breaking off for some odd reason.

They are prohibitively expensive. My friend paid $300.

Bad news, I suppose it depends on the size, brand name, model etc. But one thing for sure, it's the most expensive part of a laptop. If your laptop is aging you'd be better off buying a new one rather than replacing the screen.

You could try looking on ebay, you might find some spare parts that will fit.

Hi.
Dell sent you a box with it you can ship your computer back to them ? and they will repair screen which was damaged by your own carelessness, and your computer is 1.5 year old ? For how much ? Be real, it appears to me a early Xmas present . In North America, it is unheard of. If so, I will recommend my friends to purchase Dell, nothing but a Dell.
Just a thought on US Thanksgiving holiday.

Search on this link, whether for fresh LCD panel (laptops) or refurbished part ~ http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?CatId=7&tracelog=vertical_category®ion=&Country=CN&history=&month=&Type=&IndexArea=product_en&keyword=&srchLocation=&year=&SearchText=lcd+display&srchYearMonth=&location=&CompanyType=&OemOnly=&GsOnly=&PurchaseType=&TpOnly=&Province=&PostTime=
www.alibaba.com (recent Nasdaq-listed) has the widest coverage of manufacturers of PRC-China... so where else can you get PC/notebook parts than going 'direct' huh ;)
There's a search box where you can input say... 'LCD' which gave a scroll down lists by category. For replacement part/s... my experience tells me to look for "refurbishment" suppliers. They are the best source... sometimes you may hit the jackpot, 'overuns -new' items... maybe even branded. My experience also tells me that you zeroed on suppliers base in Guandong or Southern provinces of PRC, as that's where major PC component manufacturing were based.
