I had to reinstall XP on my C partition and restore from a .tib file. During this process I instlall AcronisTI on my D partition - then ran a full restore of C and everything came back. Now I have TI on both C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome AND D:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome. Control Panel (add/rem Programs) shows only one entry - I assume for the 'C' installation which was saved as part of the TIB. I llike the idea of using TI from my D partition... so which installation should I remove? And will be there problems in Control Panel since it sees only one of the 2 installations?

thanks and Happy Thanksgiving

If the restored image that is now your C drive was made before you installed on D then it is missing the registry entries that link to the D installation. In other words, all you have on D are the files which don't do anything.

If you want it on the D drive, I'd uninstall TI, delete the files that are on the D drive for good measure (probably not required), and reinstall it on D. Personally, I wouldn't do this since the apps and the OS,particularly the registry but also perhaps some data files, are on C and they both have to be synchronized or you end up with the situation above or worse. I consider the OS and apps as one unit.
