Hello

I usually send samples to F-Secure but after November 15 I sent a lot of samples but I didn't receive any feedback. I use the website to send the samples and before Nov 15 I received always an e-mail about the samples, telling if they are infected or not. But in the last 6 days the samples are being ignored by F-Secure. No feedback e-mail and they are not being added to database too. Some sampels I know that are infected but FS doesn't detect it 5 days after... It's not normal...
The updates are regular (6-7 per day)...
I sent e-mail for support and got no response too.
F-Secure analysts are dead? The lab was exploded/closed?
Is it a problem with the website and samples system?
My e-mail is in some spam-list of F-Secure? :P

So many questions...

Best regards.

First thing comes to my mind is that they are experiencing difficulties.
Any FS user to confirm?

I had the same with Sending to Mcaffee. They always used to send a reply saying that sample was being esculated and then tell me whan a new Dat is ready. But the last year I just get an automatic reply. I guess they realise we send in lots of samples and don't seem the need to reply.

BTW with F-secure I always just send the samples to KAV as these defs are normally added to F-secure within 12 hours or so.

I have only sent stuff direct to F-secure if its an 'in the wild' threat so they can add detection to there own orion engine quicker if they want!

Best wishes

Jlo

Hi,

tiagozt, can you send me a PM with your mail address and I'll check where your samples ended up? Whether or not we respond to incoming samples depends. We normally don't respond to collectors for example, even if they use the webform. Obviously we'll still add detections for them.

BTW, best way to send samples is to use http://www.f-secure.com/samples
