The Disappearing Firewall

Hello
I find myself frequently checking the status of ESS, because the firewall sometimes disappears. Yep, occasionally the firewall isn't present at all in the "Protection Status" screen (the right side of the interface). And, it's not listed directly below "Protection Status" on the left side of the interface. I'm not talking about it indicating disabled or turned off - it's not even listed, and the system tray icon is not red, which I assume would indicate something wrong.
Selecting "Setup" in the left column, the Personal Firewall is indicated as "malfunctioning", and possibly requiring a reboot. Entering the Advanced setup tree, the firewall is indicated as "on", in interactive mode, but http filtering is disabled, and cannot be turned on.
A reboot does not fix the problem. Running the installation file over again and selecting "Repair" only occasionally fixes the problem. In 3 of 5 cases a full reinstallation is required. There are no accompanying abnormal entries or errors in the firewall log, or Windows Event Viewer.

Has anyone else experienced the disappearing firewall?

.....i've emailed ESET and they have sent me an email with instructions how to fix the prob.....and the good news is i think the prob is fixed because mine has been running flawlessly for about a wk now....heres how to fix it....this is the exact email i got from ESET...

"Hello,

please try to follow these instructions and get back to me with result. Thanks.

1. Click on Start menu and choose the Run option.

2. Write “services.msc” (without quotes) into the dialog box and press Enter.

3. Click anywhere on the Services list in the right-hand pane.

4. Scroll to Windows Management Instrumentation and right-click it.

5. Press Stop.

6. Use Windows Explorer to delete all the files in the %SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem\Repository folder.

7. Shutdown and restart your computer. The Windows Management Instrumentation service will start and the files will be re-created."
