NOD32 2.7+ThreatFire/Prevx2+SandboxIE

Does anyone know if this config works well together (without conflicts)?
What would be a better config: NOD32+ThreatFire or NOD32+Prevx2?

I've read a number of threads about both ThreatFire and Prevx2 and it seems both programs have pros and cons.

SandboxIE sounds very interesting. Has anyone tried it in conjunction with NOD32? If so, what is the opinion about the two working together? Can a 'non-professional computer user' (like myself) use it without to many problems?

Have tried NOD with both TF and Prevx - never had any conflicts with wither. Am currently using TF as it seems to be a little less intrusive on my system. Currently also running ZAFree until I move, probably to Comodo.

Have also tried with Sandboxie but have had a few niggles. Never really explored the problems - just unintalled.

Using Vista, if that matters.....

But Sanboxie worked ok with NOD32. Tried it for 2 weeks and no issues.

Sandboxie and NOD32 have been working fine here for about a year on XP Pro SP2.

The latest Sandboxie is much more user friendly, and all the settings can be done via a GUI rather than editing an INI file, which was a bit of a criticism of the earlier versions.

SandboxIE is free isn't it (3.20 is the latest if I'm not mistaken)?

Sounds great (and interesting)! I am not a real expert, so how do you like those programs in regards to 'user friendliness'? Are they easy to install/easy to maintain, or is a lot of knowledge involved? Does SandboxIE work with the FF plugins I have installed (like CookieSafe f.e.)?

I'm running on WinXP SP2, AMD Sempron 2500+, 2GB RAM. Is this enough to run these programs together?

Hi Stijnson,

in regards to user friendliness, you can use them all straight out of the box, so to speak. I use Kees's custom rules for threatfire, but that is a matter of choice. His thread is in the "other anti-malware software" forum.

If you are using Nod32 2.7 take a look at Blackspears Extra settings.

SandboxIE works with the FF plugins ok, the SandboxIE forum will help with any problems you have.

SandboxIE and Nod32 have a very light footprint, some people have mentioned high CPU with threatfire, also a slowing down of web pages. Have not noticed it myself, but thought I would mention it.

As long as it doesn't slow down my downloads in NewsLeecher it's fine by me...;D (Just kidding of course, I guess I'll have to wait and see how ThreatFire performs on my pc). Thanks for your help tiptop78.

EDIT: Is ThreatFire still 'spitting out' a lot of FP's and False Negatives, like I've been reading about?

Well Sandboxie is an exceptional program, but personally, I don't think you'd need to run all that other stuff with Sandboxie. Sandboxie does the job just fine itself without any "3rd party" help. Plus Sandboxie is so light, if you stuck with just Sandboxie, then you'd save some major resources on your pc. But this is just my opinion, feel free to ignore this post if you like.... :P

but imon isnt compatible with sandboxie right? when i use opera sandboxed the number of scanned files (in the imon status) remains stopped. its funny because a sandboxed opera uses the same ports as an unsandboxed opera or am i wrong?

should be, i'm running NOD32 2.7, Prevx 2.0, BOClean 4.25, sandboxie, Rollback Rx, all working fine together

Just based on the this share alone, I am willing to test sandboxie, and will search/get the latest version:thumb: .
I think I know what sandboxie does(?) (well, sort of). If it is a good addition to (or in addition to..) nod32, I can play. Thanks for the report.;D

Sorry for the (very) late answer, but does the number of files scanned also stop in the AMON module of 2.7?
