View Full Version : Live CD - Safest for Transactions Online ?

It makes sense to me that a live cd (say linux distro), is the safest way
to do online banking etc. Of course it should be clean and a cd-r and have
been md5sum checked.
Not being expert calibre, is this correct and would there be any security
loopholes that could possibly be exploited assuming AV and router/firewall
etc. installed.

You got the concept of LiveCDs :)
Hardware keyloggers and eavesdroppers (if you happen to use an unencrypted site) are the only flaws of LiveCDs.

...and the keyloggers are just the malware class we want to avoid when doing our online banking...;)

I use SLAX which i have installed on a write protected flashdrive. Slax is great cause i can load the entire OS into memory plus being on a flashdrive loading times are very quick.
