I am getting really pissed of with this lol

I use Vista Home Premium 32bit

I have an Intel dual core 6600, Nvidia 8800 GTX, 2gb ram and an Asus p5B motherboard

I have the latest Windows Update plus i have the latest Nvidia Drivers. The last one came out on November 6th

Now i get the blue screen and pc crashes every so often and i get a dump file saved.

where can i see the dump file to see the error to be able to find a fix?

if i see the dump file i will report the error here maybe someone could help me :)

If you are using the apps mentioned in your signature than may be they are in conflict with each other. Just a wild guess.

Did a quick search, this might help you.

http://content.techrepublic.com.com/2346-10878_11-23267.html

One suggestion i can make is maybe try removing all realtime apps and see if you still get a BSOD.

chaos16
November 19th, 2007, 02:54 AM
i don't think its a conflict as i only have Avria in realtime protection.

How can i see my dump files??

coz when it crashes a dump file is saved?

Are you sure all your applications are Vista compatible?

Your dump files you'll find it in: My computer/Local disk/Windows/Minidump

This should help: http://bink.nu/news/giving-the-microsoft-diagnostic-and-recovery-toolset-6-dart-a-try.aspx

The Crash Analysis Wizard allows an IT Professional to take a crash dump file (*.dmp files associated with a system crash) and analyze it and get important bits of information that could help figure out why a PC is crashing.

Hi, chaos 16;

Just a wild guess.

Make sure all apps enlisted are Vista compatible.

You have Adware Se Pro's ad watch enabled and
Spybot's tea time enabled ? Disable both of them. the reboot.

Good luck.

Hi

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

a search of this error seems to suggest it is a driver problem.

chaos16
November 19th, 2007, 06:22 PM
i have adaware 2007 free and i have tea timer disabled i never use it

i think it must be a driver issue.

though yesterday i uninstalled the graphic card drivers did i clean and a regisrty clean tghrough ccleaner then i installed the latest version of the graphic card. and i still get it randomly?

Its also possible that you have a hardware problem such as bad memory. If you didn't build your own pc then ignore this, otherwise you should try and run a reliability test with something like memtest86+ (google it). The Vista dvd also has a memory tester built in.

Do you get the blue screen even when you run in safe mode? That usually narrows it down. I'm afraid there is no really nice way to troubleshoot these kinds of errors.

chaos16
November 24th, 2007, 08:19 AM
this is wat its says in the blue screen

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

***stop: oxoooooooA (ox6879CE5o, oxooooooo2, oxoooooo1, ox824ADD67)

does this help??

GlobalForce

I have never read here ANYONE effectively troubleshooting those issue's specific to your particular collection of installed software. I would therefore suggest posting to one of the mvp filled forum's, possibly windowsbbs or aumha. There at least, you can avoid hunting Easter egg's the end of November.

{QUOTE-> 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
Typically due to a bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware or software. Use the General Troubleshooting of STOP Messages checklist above. Technically, this error condition means that a kernel-mode process or driver tried to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel Interrupt ReQuest Level (IRQL) that was too high. (A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own.) <-QUOTE}http://www.aumha.org/a/stop.php

December 9th, 2007, 06:48 AM
i would run a memory test as well run a memory test for a few hours to see if it picks up on any errors.
with ram any errors mean it needs replacing.

i think i might buy new ram with a new motherboard and processor.

i got a dual core but might go for a quad core with a better motherboard.

i got the asus p5b will go with a better one and buy new ram hope that i wont get the BSOD any more.

December 9th, 2007, 06:08 PM
if you are desparate your best bet is to go to a kernel developer forum (edit. maybe there aren't kernel developer forums lol maybe a device driver forum, or programming. i'm not sure why i posted here lol) to see if they can debug your dump file, or try using something like process explorer to see if something looks out of place :ouch:

{QUOTE-> so wat shall i do with the driver? <-QUOTE}

First of all do you have a logitech quickcam ?
If so try disabling that device in device manager to see if that cures the problem of BSOD. If it does you have at least pinpointed the problem.
Did you update the driver prior to your problems, if you did try rolling back the driver.
Did this problem start after installing Vista ? maybe its incompatable with Vista

chaos16
December 10th, 2007, 07:40 AM
i do use the webcam and i notice when i am on cam for a while it crashes.

Now this is with my new pc that i bought with vista as well

Now my cam driver im not sure if there is a vista driver but will try to update lets see.

chaos16
December 12th, 2007, 04:15 AM

You don't really mean anyone, do ya? The comp's what .... oem, modified oem, custom built?
Can you supply additional hw spec's beyond what you offered in your initial post?

*Richardd43's 11-24-07 answer on pcper sounded good. Any reason you didn't ask him how it's achieved?

GF

chaos16
February 5th, 2008, 04:35 AM
yes my vista home premium is OEM

and my pc is custom built

i have a dual core intel e6600, 2gb ram (make is Geil) 8800 GTX, seagate 500 GB hard drive and i have a Asus P5B.

I have the latest windows updates.

GlobalForce
February 5th, 2008, 08:56 AM
Speculation I know .... my gut say's "hardware discrepancy." Your custom was built by whom, which outfit?

========================

Is this to say xp pro ran issue free on the same box you're now bombarded with by blue screen's?
How 'bout the webcam? Attached during the same time as xp, complete with driver soft?

"Now this is with my new pc that i bought with vista as well. In xp pro it did not happen."

GF

chaos16
February 5th, 2008, 01:53 PM
my uncle built it now i know my hardward is alrite and the hardware is compatible coz i got it by bundle the ram motherboard and cpu from overclockers then i bought tthe grapohic card and ofcourse vista home premium 32bit

it can be the drivers right? but i update my drivers to the latest thats for the graphic card though.

i get the blues screen saying wat i put in previous post now they say it could be anything

could a format be the key to fixing these blue screens?

btw if it is i would wait for sp1 to use it once i format lol

When did you first notice the Blue screen happening?

I thought by the way you worded your post, that is was right after updating the Nvidia drivers?

chaos16
February 6th, 2008, 05:13 AM
i always update my graphic card drivers (Nvidia) yes.

But it doesn't fix the blue screens

i have been getting the blue screen from the very begining.

and i am sick and tired of so mauch blue screen i noticed it first when i used to play games but then when i just use he pc

it could be me watching a video or hearing music or playing a game or just chatting.

and my software is aways up to date but i can't find a pattern so i cant tell u it always happens when im doing for example watching a video etc....

I'm unsure whether the following give's me what I'm looking for. I would like a report nonetheless. Follow direction's.

Dwnld & run the latest (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php). From the "about" tab save a "register's dump" text. Upload like a ss, as an attachment.
Then get your thinking cap warmed up, I'm putting together a few pages for you to mull over.

I've got a final few question's before proceeding.

========================

Support's a phone call away should you need to verify a technical question, correct?

Were the geil stick's suggested by ocuk or, how was the choice made?

Did any of the "bundled" item's not including your ram ship oc'd?

========================

Answer these three and I'll be with you in a day or so.

GF

Everything was bought from Overclockers so it was shipped.

Yes the geil stick were in a bundle with the cpu and motherboard

and about the call i don't fully understand but i have not called support.

this is the ram btw http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-058-GL

thanks :)

Premature but, try not to get ahead of me unless a support call give's you the OK.
There's been a lot to consider, and still more I haven't finished with.

She's got a 1.9v ~ 2.3v range. Go into bios. Are the memory increment's like these? 0.01?

197584

The following link should tell you how to bring up that screen in bios.

i looked and could not find the page u told me in bios but i saw this if this helps btw i have not changed anything.

DRam frequency is on AUTO. I can change it to 533MHz up to 1067MHz but its on auto.

PEG force X1 is disabled

memory Remap feature is disabled should i enable it?

PCI latency timer is in 64

APM
Restore on AC power loss is on power off i can put it on but i don't know lol

GlobalForce
February 9th, 2008, 05:38 PM
CHANGE NOTHING IN BIOS AT THIS TIME. The elimination of software conflict's should preceed hw compensation's unless it were the os itself blue screening. On that note I've got another question, something we need to put behind us. Have you ran you're current setup successfully for at least a week without the webcam and it's included soft?

========================

I'm adding this as "food for thought." Answer my above question, CAREFULLY review each step that follow's.

What do you make of Xionicfire's 8800 fix - http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=35609?

There are so many variable's I'm finding it somewhat difficult to assemble a constructive response. I may very well end up handing you off to a dedicated hw forum where the right type of help can make head's or tail's of your bios setting's.

*Take your time, let us know which step's were executed. I'm in it to hear you say "So far, so good. No blue screen's!"

GF

No webcam as in, not installed or, disabled in devmgmt? Is it still physically connected?
When you ran memtest (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1174553&postcount=28), was it one stick at a time like suggested on nvidia?

So Chaos,

Aside from numerous unanswered question's, have you managed to assertively try any of Xionicfire's remedies?

You and a few other's here should read the same thing I was guilty of my first couple of post's, the part below "If you're not going to take the advice, don't ask for help (http://forums.devshed.com/computer-hardware-103/new-users-read-this-first-79520.html)!" sometime. Might bring you up to speed with how peep's on the other side of the fence view those looking for help.

Chaos,

BOTTOM LINE; Adopt a systematic approach (http://www.pcguide.com/ts/gen/diagElimination-c.html) and start getting your monies worth!

"Please be sure returned goods are faulty and the problem experienced is not
caused by another component in your system or by software configuration (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/support.php)."

My advice following ocuk's lead; TAKE EVERYBODY OUT OF THE PICTURE, REINSTALL VI$TA!

Disconnect ALL periph's prior to install. No printer's, no webcam's. NADA!

No driver upgrade's during this time. Test stability of only the shipped, base package.
If she doesn't work here, plan to be on the phone with ocuk.

For testing purposes, forget ALL security soft. Place copies on flash should you need.
Activex, java? Disabled during this period to help prevent infection, rely solely on V$'s firewall.

Operate as you normally would minus these convenience's.
Visit M$ for update's only after having ran trouble free for a few outing's.

Run as described for several day's before updating your graphic's card.
Remember; There's a method for every madness!

*If you can progress this far, we'll go from there.
