malware cleaning

I don't want ESS to clean the malware automatically for me. Where can I adjust this to manual cleaning?

Open ESS, hit F1, and enter "cleaning" in the box, and choose the setting you like.

I also had trouble locating this option. Hmm, this is the most cryptic way I have ever seen in any AV to present this option. I have to drag a slider from position 2 with no visible name to position 1 - "No cleaning" which is misguiding.
Some hints for ESET:
It should be called something like "Ask me", because it definitely allows cleaning. And in a dropdown box with names for each setting, not a slider. Probably not hidden 4 clicks away from the main window.
