View Full Version : CPU Temperature and Fan Speed Monitors
November 13th, 2007, 05:04 PM
Does anyone know of a good software program that monitors CPU Temerature and Fan speeds in real time? I have a program that will give me this information but only when it is manually run. Other than noticing a difference in the sound of my computer I have no way of telling if the fan quits or needs to be replaced. Sometime back I had a fan go out and consequently I had to replace the CPU. Needless to say that was more expensive than simply replacing the fan had I of known it was bad. Replies to this post will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

MotherBoard Monotor 5
You need to see if it supports your computer's mobo. If so, it will
do what you want. There have been several updates to supported mobos.
Displays real time data in systray.

You might read through this short thread. It lists several programs that you might look into for monitoring temps and fan speeds.

From what I have read at various locations it would seem that SpeedFan would be a good candidate for you to consider.

You can count my vote for SpeedFan.

Used to use Speed Fan,but found fan readings tricky and not necessarily meaningful.
Now using Core Temp
It always indicates the CPU core temps in the taskbar-a must for me.

MBProbe (http://majorgeeks.com/download283.html)or NXSensor (http://majorgeeks.com/NextSensor_d4988.html)
For accurate dual core cpu temps, Core Temp (http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/).

Huge votes for SpeedFan and Core Temp here. Definiately warrant a download and test.
