Hello,

2.7 understood when I moved my Thunderbird profiles, from c:\ to d:\, now email is not being scanned, NOD32 scanned at the bottom of email's missing.
I've ticked c:\thunderbird (see pic) this does not help, also tried un-ticking protection for Outlook. This does nothing for Thunderbird mail.

How do i get NOD32 to scan incoming mail for Thunderbird?

Thanks & Take Care

Hi,

If you referring to email tag do as follow:
Setup > Enter entire advanced setup... > Email Protection

First make sure you have "Enable Email Protection" checked. Now under "Append tag messages to received and read email" change it to:
To All Scanned Email.

hope it helps!

Moving your Thunderbird profiles, shouldn't have anything to do with the scanning of your incoming email.

Hello,
I have this problem of my emails not being scanned.
I use Mozilla Thunderbird to access my Gmail account.
I know that my emails are not being scanned because it says so in the Antivirus and antispyware general overview in advanced mode.
That shouldn't happen because I have email checking enabled in the settings, I have specified thunderbird as my email client and I have set the POP3 port to the one Gmail uses.
Is there aything more I can do or is this a bug?

Gmail uses port 995 (encrypted connection) .
ESET v3 products cannot scan encrypted connection .

No worries - Gmail has very strong AV and SPAM filter + your real time file system protection guards you

I dont think it will scan gmail because it uses a different port 995 and ssl.

I believe gmail uses SSL (encrypted) connections. NOD 32, like most other AV programs with email scanning modules, cannot scan email downloaded through SSL connections. I've heard that Kaspersky can do so, but can't vouch for that personally.

I read somewhere on the forum that when NOD32 went from v. 2.7 to 3.0 it would be able scan emails downloaded from SSL connections. I guess that feature didn't make it in.
