I've written a MSI VBscript that lists all the running services and I use it frequently. I've noticed that that the Eset HTTP Server service (EHttpSrv.exe) never runs. It's set to manual.

Can anybody tell me what it's for, and whether it should be running?!

I've found a reply from Marcos (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=184303) stating that it's "The internal HTTP server for providing mirrored files via http." but I don't know what that means. ???

I only have EAV 3.0.560.0 installed on WinXP pro x64 SP2 (no ESS) and it runs like a dream.

I believe only Business Edition will use EHttpSrv.exe as it's used for providing updates (database def+ program component) to workstations/servers.
