Do you think they give discounts when buying buggy software?

Downloaded evaluation, version 3.0.551.0

when you open Outlook express for the first time, it crashes.
You get the ms dialouge about submitting the bug. When you click, don't send
and then open outlook express again it's okay.

It also takes long to close and the email tags are showing
duplicated.

Is this whats being sold by Eset?

If you want one of the best malware protections , buy a license for Eset Antivirus Home edition and use NOD32 v2.70.39 instead of v3 of Eset Antivirus .

If I were you some months later I would try again either EA or ESS and decide if I want an upgrade to v3 of EA , or buy a license for ESS (there may be still an upgrade price from AV to Smart Security)

but for sure it wasn't for the reason that the OS might possibly contain bugs which are supposed to be fix later , right ;D
