View Full Version : Splash Screen Removal in v3.0?

Today I installed v3.0 and it seems to be running without any problems so far.

Version 2.7 had the option to disable the splash screen on start up. I've looked for this option in the advance setup tree but cannot find it.

Has it be omitted from this release? Perhaps it can be edited in a config file instead? Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Rob.

Go to the advanced mode, advanced setup, and it will be under user interface.

Is there a way to use this option through the configuration editor for the LAN version? I havent been able to find it.

Merge this registry key (with regedit /s "registrykey.reg") at user logon either in their logon script or through group policy and you can have it disabled for everyone in a domain environment.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eset\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\Client]
"ShowSplash"=dword:00000000

I was going over my Default XML in the RA today and noticed that there was a UNIX config section I don't remember seeing before, and new User GUI options for Windows including Disable Splash screen!

SWEET! :thumb: :thumb:

I set up the new options, fixed what I was in there to change, and pushed the new configuration to all the clients.

It doesn't work for me, or my clients.

Well , it has no protection capabilities but one of it's purposeses is marketing and beauty , in my opinion , and the second one is for all spash screens:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splash_screen

{QUOTE-> Splash screen is a term used to describe an image that appears while a computer program (in our case egui.exe) is loading <-QUOTE}

{QUOTE-> Purpose
Splash screens are typically used by especially large applications to notify the user that the program is in the process of loading. In other words, they provide feedback that a sometimes lengthy process is under way. A splash screen disappears when the application's main window appears. <-QUOTE}
