Devolo Network Solution help needed!!

I apologise in advance for the 'newb' type question

I am looking to connect my kids PC to the net with one of these products

Devolo MicroLink dLAN Highspeed Starter Kit

There are two types that I can see (on Amazon.co.uk)

The one is just an ethernet connection, the other is Ethernet and USB

I have a cable modem connected to a router. I assume that either one of those products would work with cable.

All the diagrams etc i have seen show the ethernet cable going from the modem to the router to the Devolo Plug....then to the PC's.
I cannot see anywhere where it shows the 'original' PC connected direct to the router and the 'extra' PC connected with another ethernet cable from the router to a Devolo Plug then to the second PC.

Hmm, this isnt making a lot of sense to me and I'm typing it !!! ;D

Basically what I want to do is Cable Modem..Router...my PC and then

Router..ethernet cable...devolo Plug.. (in my room) Devolo Plug...ethernet cable...kids PC.

Will this work? I understand that with Cable I have a static address, but what about the second PC !!!???

I am asking here instead of the Devolo Site because I know I will get good answers here as opposed to just a company email

Looks like a good set-up, should work no problems. About your router, it will issue a different address for the 2nd PC, probably 192.168.0.100/101/102/etc...
