I just downloaded the trial version of TIS9 for testing as we have been looking at replacing some of our clients tape backup systems.
The first server I tried I hit a brick wall, its the new Compaq ML110-G4, we purchased 20 of these for the size as they can be set aside as a backup server should the main ones failed, each equip with 2GB DDR2, 2x500GB, after I hit the problem, I removed the RAID and just plonk in a single 160GB SATA as I suspect the prob may be from the RAID.
The problem remains, after the TIS Boot CD starts, the menu comes on screen, then if i move the mouse, it will move a bit, then thats all, no KB/no mouse movement, basically its a dead system until RESET.
I searched the forum and came across a few suggestions, about pressing F11, but I tried before and after the TIS menu with no luck, then I looked at some of the dates, boy, all I can say is, the support is not that great, this is an enterprise product, but if this is the type of support users are getting, we may need to look elsewhere.
The idea of the Universal Restore sounds wonderful, but at the end of the end, whole idea of TIS is a baremetal emergency backup restore tool, and these situations arises out of the blue, theres no time to wait days/weeks for help, our jobs depends on the tools we use.
