I have had Data Execution Prevention shut down IE a couple times lately and I am wondering if there is a place where I can see a log of why it was shut down. Anyone know? I am using Vista Home Premium.

thanks

Look in Event Viewer under Application. Also look at DrWatson logs. I've had Explorer recently twice, out of nowhere, be shut down by DEP. Since it was Explorer being shut down it crashed the computer as I had no shell. I wasn't about to exclude Explorer as I might as well not use DEP then. It stopped as mysteriously as it started. I used to have to exclude Outlook Express. That was when I had Kaspersky and I didn't use the email scanner. After I uninstalled KAV, I noticed OE did not need to be excluded from DEP. Then I read the problem was KAV not OE. Perhaps, some application you were using with IE caused DEP to shut IE down.

I am using KIS. Maybe that is the problem.
