;) Many IE users,but in my case only occasionally,prefering Opera or Mozilla,find that they need additional software to clean user tracks from IE.
Iv`e noticed however,that the latest ad supported version of NetCaptor,has a privacy feature that cleans up to eight user tracks,including the dreaded "index.dat",plus providing many useful IE enhancing facilities.It will wipe and DOD overwrite the aforementioned IE files up to 35 times if paranoia really strikes! Incidentally,the ad supported version only applies to the US and Canada,so for us in Europe it`s virtually freeware-which is another reason why I use it!
