Just installed TI 10/Home (Latest Build-4942), created a back-up and iso. image onto an external USB drive and created the Secure Zone on C drive. Now when I boot my laptop I have to do 3 cold re-boots before it will boot into the os. On the first 2 boots it loads the BIOS then hangs with only a flashing cursor. The USB back-up drive is not connected during the boot process. I see the following item in the msconfig app under the boot tab:Windows Vista (TM) Ultimate (recovered) (C:/Windows) Current OS;Default OS. I have not yet recovered anything from the back-up that I created.
Toshiba Qosmio F 45/Vista Ultimate/Core 2 Duo 1.66/2GB Ram.
Any suggestions? Can't find any info on this in the forums or app help files.
Thanks.

Try removing the SZ with ATI and see if things go back to normal. If you have a drive other than C on which to store images, that's the better way to go -- then you still have you backup files if the C drive goes south. The SZ change the mbr, which can make some pcs go wonky and the SZ's only real benefit is if you have only one harddisk so have to save your backups on that very same hard drive.

Thanks shieber. I tried your suggestion before I wrote this post and it didn't work. Still a mystery to me.

Problem solved no thanks to Acronis! Theres a free program at www.snapfiles.com called EasyBcd that will let you repair/edit your MBR from within Windows. It saved my a$$!

Ah, you must have chosen to activate the Startup Recovery Manager. Most users avoid doing so.
