View Full Version : Can't access router's root dir with "Web access protection" enabled

ESS RC1, WinXP Pro SP2, Linksys WRTSL54GS with Tomato 1.09 firmware.

When I try navigating to my router's root dir (http://10.0.0.1/), I get an empty page. This happens with 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.1* entered as excluded addresses under Antivirus and antispyware > Web access protection > HTTP > Excluded addresses.

When I add 10.0.0.1/* and/or *10.0.0.1/* as an excluded address, I get a page that is empty with the exception of some text on the side.

With Web access protection fully disabled, I can navigate to http://10.0.0.1/ just fine.

What's the secret? Or, as I suspect, is this a bug?

Please do the following:
- install Ethereal
- disable WAP (web acc. prot.)
- make sure you can access the router
- start capturing packets
- access the router
- send the Ethereal log to support[at]eset.com with this thread's url in the subject.

Try enter only "*10.0.0.1*" without slash.

That won't work either.

Did you try creating a trusted zone for that ip?

No, I didn't. Thanks for the idea, though.

It's a bug. They might fix it.

But I'll never know, as I've stopped using...what is this product called? ESS? And as I just bought a 3-year license for the product offered by Eset's arch-nemesis (I don't want to be modded, so I won't kname it), I rrrrrrreally do mean it this time.
