Can anybody help me please. My computer shuts down perfectly but when anybody touches a keyboard button it boots up again. My cat has been surfing during the night most nights and I have only just found out how.
I am running Windows XP.
I would really appreciate any help that is offered.
Thanks. Billy

You could have a look in bios and disable "wake on lan" and maybe some other "wake on" or "power on after" settings.
I did have a pc that used to startup after a power failure and found a setting in bios to stop that.
You will have to look around in bios for the settings as I can't remember exactly where they are.

Thanks very much. Excuse me, but how do I get into the Bios?

Reboot your computer and watch each screen carefully from the beginning.
They contain certain keys to do different things. One of them activates the BIOS-setup.
In my case, I have to hit the "DEL"-key several times to get into the BIOS-setup.

Brilliant. Thank you both very much. I have got into the BIOS and found the problem and fixed it.
Cheers and thanks again for the help.
