Hi

On the 12th I downloaded the latest Definitions from Symantec and
did a full system scan with Norton Antivirus. Nothing was found.
I submitted a trojan I knew I had to them on the 12th.
Usualy they send an e-mail explaining it is either in their database or it isn't a problem file. This time I got no responce but today
their program is catching it. TDS-3 allready does under a different name. The interesting thing is their site shows the tyrojan detedted
along time ago. Have a look C

Weird. There's no apparent need for secrecy or silence here.

...Or is there?

Symantec labels all trojans that have the same functionality as Backdoor.trojan. See also the information on their website:

-{ Quote: "Backdoor.Trojan is a generic detection for a group of backdoor Trojans. All Trojans that are detected as Backdoor.Trojan have one thing in common: they allow unauthorized access to the infected computer." }-

That is what is stated at Symantec's website. Usually if you submit a trojan server for detection, Symantec will reply with a name, such as Backdoor.Tron or Backdoor.Latinus (there are many which come under this generic detection group). Did they provide such a name for your sample?
