Hi,
I'm new to this forum.
And I see alot of people talking about "HIPS".
What is "HIPS"? Does it stand for something?
And can you list some software related to "HIPS"?
Sorry for this lame question.
But I really want to know.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, HIPS stands for Host(-based) Intrusion Prevention System. Here are a couple of links to get you started. Enjoy :)

In general, HIPS detects unexpected activity on your system and
asks you to allow or disallow that activity. HIPS will teach you
much about your system, but I would not recommend it if your
computer is used by unsupervised novices in your family, as you
seemed to indicate in your other thread.
