Upgrading PYTHON on XP?

I've noticed that the Python program on my XP system is pretty outdated (v2.2.1).

The latest Python version is 2.5.1.

Should I upgrade to the most current version and do I need to UNINSTALL the old version 1st? Is it a simple uninstall 2.2.1 and re-install 2.5.1.....or is there more advanced work involved.

Uninstall old one and install new one. Simple.
As to whether you want to install a new one, well, your choice.
