Choosing between Opera and Firefox

Hi,
Is asking a person to choose between Opera or Firefox,
a similar question asking a kid to choose between mom or dad?
I'm not asking which one is better.
I'm just curious which one you prefer.
This is not a "VS" question.
I prefer Opera, and just asking you which one you prefer.

I prefer Opera, mainly I'd say just for the look and feel of it, and yes I have tried both.

Firefox for me. The wide variety and number of extensions is simply amazing.

Got Fx installed too, although I don't use it much.
Both are good browsers with their pro's and con's. :thumb:

Firefox's vast number of extensions is a big plus, but can add some bloat.
Opera is a rock solid, well tested browser, but I never really felt "comfortable" with it. Due, no doubt, to my lack of "staying with it" for any extended period.
This is all very subjective. Both are fine. All a matter of preference.

I mostly use Opera but sometimes it does not render correctly and I then use K Melon for that page if it is important enough. I also use FF sometimes for online forums since its spell checker is better integrated.

I like Opera.
On the other hand, my wife almost always uses Firefox.
They are both good browsers.
K-Ninja is another good bare-bones browsers.

A long time ago I ran Opera and FF side by side for about 2 months trying to decide on one. Initially I liked Opera and was impressed with their tutorials. After a while I began to feel like it is geared to the young dudes,because of the community center that has alot of youth oriented content, and the chat room which was populated with teens with attitudes. The other thing was the inability for some web sites to load because I'm told they were formatted for IE and Opera couldn't access them. Other than that it was similar to FF. As mentioned earlier, FF has way more extensions and skins, and is pretty much got a more adult feel. :)

I use Firefox :
1. gecko-based browser, safer than MSIE.
2. numerous extensions
3. easy for system/data separation
4. easy and unique "Find in This Page" function

LOL, ur prolly right there,lot's of attitude, but then most likely a lot of fanboys hang out there, never understand that mentality, it's a tool like any other, does a job, if not find one that does.

Opera for me too. I don't venture into chat rooms (can't type fast enough!).

I have Firefox with NoScript and the IE Tab (to collect Windows Updates) but have never yet come across sites Opera can't render properly.

People mention one advantage of Firefox is its extensions, and that is true. It's useful for those that wish to add on to the browser.

However, there is also the KIS approach by having as little or no extensions at all. I use that approach.

Right click and hit "Edit site preferences" and go to Network Tab and in the drop down "Identify as Explorer" and then okay, then refresh the page.

I cannot recall this not ever working.

Opera in Windows and Linux, FF as alternate, Opera is fast and secure, their security updates are the fastest, they have a team that works with the users and are not away from them, end result, a very safe and fast browser.

From early use I have always identified as IE, so that step for me would be an irrelevant fix. I can say that pages with problems are becoming pretty rare now, and on some occaisions I have found that it is not the browser, but a security setting that causes a problem, such as disabling referrer logging.

Another Opera user here. I used to have both Opera and Firefox installed on my computer, and I used both of them. But later on, I just feel that I like Opera more. So I just have Opera on my computer now.
