I had a drive with three partioins and 3 win 2kp os's.
I was running OSS.

I made Bu [tib] of those 3 partitions.
I then deleted those partitons and reinstalled 1 bu.

So now I only have 1 partition and 1 os.
The boot ini reads :
[boot loader]
;timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\winnt
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\winnt="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

Being as it is the ONLY partition why does it read "partition(2)".
More so whay does it work?
And why does it not boot if i set it to "partition(1)"?

I was trying to reorder the partitons. I wanted the partition #2 to become #1 and # 3 to be #2.
How should I do this?

If you used the last build of TI 9 or any builds of TI 10 to restore the partition, then the reason is that the partition was recreated in the same "partiton slot" as the original.

In your case partition(2). If the system is working correctly, don't worry about.

If you want more information on the subject, see this thread: TI Restore Changes Partition Order in Partition Table (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=180286)

---

If you want to restore the partitions without this happening then you need to remove all the partitions from the disk and then use TI 9, build 3,677 to restore the partitions to where you want, in the order you want. Then you'll have to edit the boot.ini files manually so they are correct. You can boot into DD from the CD and explore the partition to do this.

It is not working correctly.
It qill be even more of an issue when i add bacj the other partition as it is a copy of the same partition.

What i need to know is how to change the partition number to what I want and then i can edit the boot.ini accordingly.

Can you help?
