I sure hate to show my ignorance ,, O well,, cant help it..
I have win ME and cant get avg to create a rescue disk
You'l know what I mean if you have tried..
its like avg is trying to create a basic startup disk and win me wont let it,, ie it'l be to large for all to fit on two disks..so it fails.

I know this is simple but havent persued it long enough to figure out yet,, whick I should have when it was first installed DU

Thanks You
Lonny

Hi Ellison64,
Thanks for the link to `idf50` found it very useful, I will tell my mates at work, and that will save me giving out long explainations of how to do it.

So heres how it works on windows ME
No need to download a minimal boot disk or utility that makes one, from that site or find one elsewhere besides that site's download link wouldn't work..

Create a Normal startup disk with windows tools..
from "add remove programs" I gather everyone should make a new one every few months with a brand new floppy..
Put it aside and lock it.

open AVG On the toolbar go service create rescue disk and when given the option don't format click [next].. you'l end up with three disks

to us them start the PC with your windows startup disk,, at the selective startup screen choose minimal boot,,
once at the a:\ prompt replace the startup disk with the first avg disk type
avg.exe
and hit enter, and fallow the prompts..
pretty easy

thanks again ellison64 without you and the links you so kindly posted I wouldn't have figured it out yet..
