Hi maddawgz :)

Hmmmm ... error.log...

Did you have similar entries in the Windows EventViewer?

Start | run | eventvwr.msc ?

application and system logs.

It's easier to find clues about these errors with the source and the event ID
at this web site: http://www.eventid.net/

It's possible also to replace the useless link in the eventviewer by an other link to EventID with this Gilles Ronsin's PHP script: http://gilles.ronsin.free.fr/#EventId

There is 2 .reg files in this page : one to enable the link, the other to return to the previous situation.

Direct download 1 st script: http://gilles.ronsin.free.fr/reg/WXP-NewEvntVwr.reg

Direct Download second script:http://gilles.ronsin.free.fr/reg/WXP-NewEvntVwr_normal.reg

and finally it's possible to add EventID in the Firefox search engines:
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html?name=eventid&sherlock=yes&opensearch=yes&submitform=Search

Hope this help. Let us know.

:)

Hi maddawgz :)

{QUOTE-> ok ill give that a go brb

To merge the lines of the .reg file in the registry, right click on it and choose to open with the registry editor. This will add the lines in the registry.

The first .reg is to include the link to EventID in the details of error messages instead of the useless link to MS site.

The second .reg is to reinstall the link to MS if you don't like the other one.

Is that OK ?

:)

See this at EventID for source Service Control Manager / Event 7000:

http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=7000&eventno=108&source=Service%20Control%20Manager&phase=1

There's a lot of information for this (may be too much...) :o

To make a copy in the clip board and save it with control + V in a text file click on the file icons in this windows (see screen capture)

It look like this:

Type de l'événement : Erreur
Source de l'événement : DCOM
Catégorie de l'événement : Aucun
ID de l'événement : 10016
Date : 2007-08-18
Heure : 11:24:57
Utilisateur : GULLIVER\Claude
Ordinateur : GULLIVER
Description :
Les paramètres d'autorisation spécifiques à l'application n'accordent pas d'autorisation Locale Activation pour l'application serveur COM avec le CLSID

In english in your system for sure ! ;)

here's a program that helps read event viewer logs
http://www.eventlogxp.com/

here's a screenshot i took a couple of years ago, it tells you what the error means in the description box.
