View Full Version : Error occurred during communication with kernel

Many apologies if this thread covers old ground, I did a search first but got conflicting answers.
I have had Nod32 since December last year without any problems, but since my service provider did something they called an "invisible tuning" whenever I try to open the contol centre i get the message "Error occurred during communication with NOD kernel service"
This seems to co-incide with some sort of virus/malware from spyware-security.com which opens a pop up ever 10 minutes or so

I run Windows XP with loads of free memory in the pc and firefox. Unfortunately my windows is a French language version and as French isn't my native tongue it is hard to follow detailed instructions

From the gist of threads I have read, I assume that I should re-install NOD32 but would like concrete confirmation of this before I start messing about with stuff I don't really understand.

Many thanks for the prompt reply Blackspear

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it now seems to be working on the second attempt as I hadn't erased the Program files/Eset folder the first time

Is this likely to get rid of my spyware-security.com pop-up too?

Thanks again Blackspear, although it all seems far too complicated for a middle aged luddite like myself.
I've sent a log and a lookinmypc file to eset which I think was recommended in your link.
Thanks again

You are welcome. It can look overwhelming, however like a large meal, you can only eat one bite at a time ;) ;D

Cheers ;D
