I am using Acronis Disk Director Suite 10 with a Windows XP Pro OS with two harddrive one with the OS and the other for my files which had two partitions in it. I have a partition which I had all my files in it, in the 2nd harddrive. I tried to resize it using the software to increase space because I still have extra space in the other partition.
A problem came when I tried resizing after that both partitions were gone. When I closed acronis and opened it in the explorer the partition is not formatted anymore and then I opened Acronis again and the drive wasn't there. I still didn't format it, i'm hoping my files aren't really gone. I don't know what to do anymore. Can you help solve this crisis?

marcpro7:

First, try rebooting your PC. Maybe Windows just needs to resynchronize to the attached disk drives.

If your partitions still don't show up, start DiskDirector again and try the Recovery Expert function. This feature is described in the User Guide (http://us2.download.acronis.com/pdf/DiskDirectorSuite10.0_ug.en.pdf), Chapter 5. Read this section before attempting a recovery operation.

It still doesn't work. When I opened the drive in the explorer it says "do you want to format this drive?" and I can't even recover it in acronis because the second harddrive doesn't appear there.

Have you tried booting to the DD cd and running the Recover Wizard?

I would try the Full mode version first and if it didn't find the drive, try the Safe mode version.
