Moving "C" partition from Dell drive to new Seagate Drive

Hi, I am currently using a Dell e1505 laptop, that came with a 5400rpm, 60gb hard drive. I only have 6gb of free space left, because my "C" partition is only 37gb. The rest is called a "Backup" partition which I have no use for.

My question is this: I bought a new 7200rpm, 100gb Seagate hard drive, and currently have it in an external enclosure. I would like to clone the "C" partition (which is all I need) to the new drive, and have the rest be free space. I do not want to copy the backup partition over. I am having trouble doing this with Acronis True Image. Can you guys help walk me through what I need to do in order to acheive my goal? Thanks in advance!

It's lucky you asked before you started. Big problems with your Dell laptop if you don't do it properly. Read through this and post again.

Please notice that it's only possible to clone the entire drive. In your case we may recommend you to create a backup of only your C: partition, and then restore it onto your new drive. The backup can be stored on any media (another hard drive, network share, removable media). You could also create a temporarily partition on the new drive and store the backup file there.

As a result of omitting the "Backup" partition, you might need fix MBR of the new drive after restoration using either Windows installation disk, or the method described in Acronis Help Post (http://wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317).
