Hi, as per the title.

I have found that certain games (gta, various incarnations, mainly) have a habit of resetting my desktop to 800x600 resolution, and I was wondering if there's a registry hack or something I can do to force it to stay at 1024x768?

Any help / advice appreciated muchly!

Hi Argus,

It's more a limitation of how a particular game may read your video driver's capability. G-parted for instance can only muster 800x600 resolution without adjustment on my box, other program's are fixed. *Explanation along these line's.

For someone other than myself to help you should forward a few detailed hardware spec's including make/model pc, current video driver, and mobo .... most of which can be determined through device manager or program's like Belarc Advisor and SIW. Whether he'll post or not Firecat has a knack for such matter's.

Hi, and thanks for the response :)

I'm running on xp home, sp2 with nearly all patches.
My graphics card is a radeon x300 SE
I'm using what I think is the latest driver, 8.30.0.0
Mobo is an ASUSTek "puffer" version 1.x.x
3.2Ghz P4 (HT) 2Gb ddr ram.

The pc itself is a HP Pavillion t760a.

btw, siw is a great little program, thanks for the link :)
