Unable to back up - Remote Procedure Call

Hi All,

After my success in cloning my drive, with your help, I thought I'd back up my newly cloned system drive..........

However when trying to create a full back up to an another internal drive I get all the way through the wizard only to hit the following error

E00640068 - Failed to create the scheduled task - Error # 1722. The RPC server is unavailable."

However looking at the running services the RPC service is running?! :(

My system is XP SP2 and I'm using the latest build.

Hi Paul,

Make sure that RPC is set to Automatic and RPC Locator is set to Automatic. Reboot the computer and go back and check the Services before trying again. If it fails, when backing up, do a complete Anti-Virus Scan of the entire computer.

You may have a Virus.

Thanks both,

The Acronis Scheduler service was disabled, changing to automatic as suggested has solved the issue.

I tried searching for the original error but came up dry, sorry guys I do try and search the forum first, honest!
