Ace Utilities

I downloaded a trial of Ace Utilities and wanted to know others experiences. The registry cleaner finds a LOT more issues than JV16 so I was wondering how safe it is as well as the other tools? Any input is appreciated.

Its registry cleaner has yet to cause me any problem. Also it creates backups, so you can always restore if any problems arise.

I find it safer than jv16.

Also there is a version by Ace called something like Sysytem Tools, just for XP.

I use Ace Utilities for quite a while now. Only problem I had with Registry Cleaner was I did have to make exclusions for some Shadow Protect entries it was flagging in registry. Guess that is to be expected you will have to make some exclusions sometime with any of these cleaners. Overall, i like the functionality of the program.

They are both set about the same...Ace Utilities finds 78 entries to delete that JV16 does not.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll use it for a while and just make sure that I have backups.

I ran it once, and it must have Cleaned up something it shouldnt, cause I couldnt reboot afterwards, it Said something about Windows failed to start because a System32 File was missing :blink:

The registry cleaner has been dependable.With any registry cleaner you definitely will want to make sure that the backup feature is enabled.

The new program is System TuneUp.
I switched to this version using my Ace key.
It's at least as good as Ace Utilities IMO.

In the event an individual's system (ntfs) became unable to boot, can anyone outline a manual recovery routine?

I have used AU for several YEARS. It is rock steady, highly effective, totally safe, and stringently maintained. Among my students, other such utilities have come & gone, but AU remains as the old reliable mainstay of computer maintenance.

Just to build your confident level a bit higher (joking)... I have been using it for years, it's a great program, and safest than some of those I had tried. One thing good about AU is it Lifetime License.

I tried "RegSupreme". I might be wrong but I couldn't find any function to exclude/ignore registries. Am I right about this ?
