View Full Version : License expiration if not used?

I guess this a question of a cheapskate.;D
I have seen various boxed copies of AVs that with rebates end up free or nearly so.
With the soon to be introduction in the US of KIS/KAV7 I would suspect that we might see those left to be reduced and rebated to end up a freebie.
Why couldn't a person buy one of those, and keep it a year or two to use when his current license expired?
Best,
Jerry

I would suspect that we might still see those left to be reduced and rebated to end up a freebie...in a year or two.

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1044878&postcount=123 Sorry, I misunderstood your question. As long as that lic.code from KAV6-box hasn't been activated, I don't see why it wouldn't work???

Hi Monty,
Thanks for the reply. I currently have a boxed copy of KAV6 that is unopened, and I plan to use it when my current license expires in 298 days.;D
I don't think the downloaded keys work that way, but am not sure.

Jerry

LOL - Here is an answer from a cheapskate - that is how I buy all my AV software. If I see it "free after rebate" I buy it, then install when I need it. Every one has worked so far, though Trend Micro did stiff me on a rebate.

If they stiffed you, I would send something to their rebate processing center about it (most of those places are just centers that process rebates for many companies). I used to buy a lot of software that was free after rebate. Only a handful never mailed me back my check. Most of the free programs haven't been used and are probably obsolete now though.

The KAV 6 license starts the subscription when the product is activated.
