Hi,

I have no experience with the email-client The Bat!, and (I have to admit it :-[ ) I'm too lazy to check it myself......

So, my question is: which AV handles The Bat! :

- on-access
- on-demand
- at which OS

Thanks ;)
Cheers, Jan.

There are several ways to scan emails within TheBat!

1) Scanning the email database of TheBat!

KAV can do this and also of course the programs that use the KAV-Engine like AVK and F-Secure.

2) Pop3-Scanning

If an anti-virus software allows manual pop3-scanning configuration this will work with TheBat!

3) Internal AV-Plugin

This is at the moment support with KAV (Pro) and DrWeb32

And of course IMON of NOD32 works also perfectly with TheBat!.

But just to highlight one fact: TheBat! is far more secure than other email clients like Outlook (Express). The internal HTML-viewer is fully independent from any browser and does not allow any kind of scripting (VBS, JavaScript). Also TheBat! warns if you try to open email attachments with "dangerous" file extensions.

I use TB! with the KAV plug-in. After a bit of tweaking, it works a treat and any suspect mail ends up in the 'Quarantine' folder for further inspection!

DrWeb has a plug-in made specifically for TheBat.
