Hi ,All:
I am presently using the trial version of Norton Internet Security 2007 and I probably will purchase the 2 year license online. When NIS2008 comes out will I be able to upgrade to it without further costs?
Thanks!! :)

That is their current policy which I would think they could change at any time. However it seems all of the security vendors operate this way now.

Thank you ,ajcstr. You mean upgrading is free or not?

Upgrading is free, I believe you need to input your license key after downloading and installing the new version. You will then have whatever time is left on you original subscription.

As of now, the upgrade from the NIS/NAV 2006 version to the 2007 is free. So I would assume that the upgrade from 2007 to 2008 would be free also.

Thanks guys . I just used symantec "live chat" service. OMG the response is toooooooooooo slow. I waited for at least 10 minutes and the response is "we dont have too much information about NIS2008 ,so we dont know....." Amazing answer......

You might want to just hold off for a while till 2008 is done, and use another AV for now, one of the free ones perhaps....

You could try asking at the symantec beta forum and see if a mod/admin can give you a quick answer.

Would you just download and install the trial version, then use the key from the older product?
For instance, NAV 2006 won't install on Vista, so do you download the 2008 trial, install on Vista, then activate with the 2006 key?

Yes, upgrading should be free, it is part of the new "subscription based software" policy of Symantec and McAfee. ;)
