What´s so special about this tool? I doubt that it´s as good a regular AV scanner, any more details?

Quote from author Marcin Kleczynski

-{ Quote: "MBAM uses a lot better, and safer, heuristics scanning. Once released it will feature extremely powerful malware extraction techniques. It is not an AntiVirus, it is an AntiMalware program. MBAM will also include extra tools that will help most users return their comptuer to a stable state. Some of these tools include a safe mode fixer and task manager enabled. MBAM already is capable of removing hooked and locked malware, certain rootkits, and even LSP embedded malware." }-

if malware can figure out whether it is running inside an VM or nod32's heuristics or some other AV "emulator" then this one will eventually be vunerable too. Still, sounds interesting.
