Winamp and Real files

I need a plug-in for winamp to play Real player files (ra,rm,ram..etc) without the need for Real Player to be installed on the machine..
Is there any thing like this?

I tried real alternative, but it does not play imbedded RA on the web and did not particularly like it.

Real Alternative with Media Player Classic is probably the closest thing. Like root also mentioned... streaming and embedded real files are not fully supported.

Check out the Winamp website and you 'll find some downloads which will allow you to use Winamp for all Real Audio without having RA installed on your PC . You need a few RA files but none of the rest of the garbage . Works fine for me in WA 2.91 .

I downloaded the 'Tara' plugin from Winamp's website and it told me it needs RP to be installed on my system to play .ra files that I have .. ::)
any other plugin you have? ::) ::) ::) ::)

I could find nothing that worked with Winamp 5.

I suspect there may be patent considerations involved here that prevent this. Otherwise, I think there would be a lot of players capable of playing real audio and media.

I think it's going to work on Winamp5 just fine, at least Tara did ::)
Just tell me which plugins you use and I'll give them a try.. ;)

Tara plays my RA files but it won't play imbedded rmm such as at BBC.com. Plays video, but no audio.
I'll keep looking. I would love to get Real off my system, but I have these really great oldies in real format. Also like the imbedded rmm capability sometimes.
