I had sucess repartitioning my external hard drive. Now I'm trying to repartiton my internal hard drive (250gb). I go through the process. When I choose to commit, the computer tells me I need a reboot before I can procede.. After the reboot, Aconis seems to take paossesion of the hard drive and do some sort of check. Then I boot into Windows and no change has been made. I go back into Director, and I just have to start from the beginning and the same things happended.
I noticed that Acronis is reporting my hard drive as RAID instead of Basic. My computer management (did I say I'm using Vista?) is reporting that my drive is SCSI but Dell confirms they sold me a SATA drive. They say that sometimes SATA drives report back to the computer as SCSI but the brand name is always correct? The hard drive listed is WDC WD25 00JS-75NCB3 SCSI Disk Device.
Any suggestions on where to go from here would be apprciated. Should I contact Western Digital to see if they have a fix to make my drive show as SATA and not SCSI?
Thanks,

I wouldn't worry about the SCSI/SATA thing if the computer is working properly. It just depends on how the driver displays the drive info or what mode the controller is in.

Are you using the lastest build of DD (2,160)?

As for the partition problem, boot from the cd and do the procedure. Don't start it in Windows. Usually it will work from the cd when it doesn't work starting it from Windows.

Boot from CD, makes sense, thanks! I downloaded the exe from the website and installed it on my machine. So I take it there's and option to build a CD within the program?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Frogger:

That's correct; the Bootable Media Builder. If you don't see it in the menu then go to add/remove programs and re-run the installer, choosing to also install the bootable media builder app.

You can create the bootable version of DiskDirector on a CD or on a USB flash drive.
