I read on ESET's site that 2.70.39 fixes a stack overflow error. This seems fairly important. As such, wondering why my 2.70.32 LAN Update Server is not seeing this update? It is configured to ask before updating program components, but I am never asked. Does 2.70.39 have to be downloaded manually? And if the answer is yes, why?

Because changes between 32 -> 39 are minor (even though fixes security vulnerability) . This has not been seen in the wild so it is not important and thus hasn't been pushed via program component upgrade

If you have network protected by NOD32 (you mention LanUpdate Server) , contact Eset Technical support and ask for a specific mirror where they can provide you with 2.70.39 for your machines
