View Full Version : GeSWall Question

Spent a frustrating couple of hours trying to run SandboxIE as a trusted appliance in GeSWall free. I liked GeSWall but it's insistance upon placing my favourite sandbox in the untrusted category impairs the functionality of SandboxIE somwhat and to make a long story short, Windows Media Player would not operate properly.

I would like to add SandboxIE to the trusted ranks but for the life of me I could not do it nor find any such list.

Does GeSWall treat all programs as un trusted? Surely that's not the case; there must be a register of trusted items somewhere in GeSWall.

Does anyone know how to sort this problem out?

Perhaps it is overkilled running both SandboxIE & GeSWall?

Sorry, no

Try using one of them (either GesWall or SandboxIE)

Yeah, it's a hard choice, but I think you lot are right, I have to choose between them.

If u have installed SBIE a trusted application, it should never be isolated by GeSWall.
Anyway here is the way to make rulke for a process to be always trusted.
If u use SBIE, GeSWall is not needed but they can co-exist in my experience.

Thanks for the reply, Aigle. Got it. It appears that I'd labelled sandboxIE as untrusted! Getting the hang of the program now.

GeSWall is set to the default Security Level.

Why then is there an X (white on red background) appearing on the GeSWall icon in the notification area?

I'm sure this couldn't mean that protection is limited or even off, could it?

What does the X signify and is it something to worry about?

Is it desirable to get rid of the X and if so how do I get rid of it?

P.S. Can't find anything in the help files that relates to this.

Hi all,

This means that GeSwall is deactivated and will not do its job
Right click on GS icon in taskbar and click on "Enable GeSwall policy"
