pg and slow shut down on pc

Can u please help me, i have noticed it takes about 7-8 minutes to shut down my pc, instead of the usuall 2 minutes,.I am not one for downloading programmes but do have all diamond cs programmes installed.The only programme i have installed lately is pg, i cant say this has caused the problem but this shut down problem only started in the last few weeks.
I have been told about dll files that over time can slow down your system can u advise on this.
I have also uninstalled pg to see if this made a difference but there is no difference in shut down time pleeeeeeeeease can u help me.

Hard to say, it can have a lot of reasons. Most of the time services wait at each other to close until a timeout will occur.
you might want to try a little utility which you can find here:

i had that problem with the old 1.1 version, but not with the newer 1.15 version.. are you using the 1.15 version?
