hi all

I'm writing a page on host files as well as some troubleshooting info but I'm a little sketchy on the technical details and I'd like to know if I've made any mistakes

here is the page Host File And Host File Management (http://h1.ripway.com/Bethrezen/Web-Site/Work%20In%20Progress/Host-File-And-Host-File-Management.html)

could someone give it the quick once over please let know if there are any errors

thanks

A couple thoughts... :)

First, an additional Hosts manager that works quite well... HostsXpert http://www.funkytoad.com/content/view/13/31/ It provides basic editing and control of the Hosts file and the DNS Service from a standalone executable.

You also might want to mention that if one uses a large, managed Hosts file, it may help speed up browsing by using a local webserver for addresses directed to the 127.0.0.1 address. Programs like eDexter http://accs-net.com/hosts/eDexter.html or Homer http://www.funkytoad.com/content/view/14/32/ can help with this. (If memory serves, HostsMan also includes a webserver.)

Hope this helps..?? ;)
