:) Hi Guys & Gals...

My general sys info:

I am running WinXP pro on a notebook
Currently I am running McAfee Dat ver. 4.0.4308
with engine ver. 4.2.60 and build 8.0 9 [current product].

Questions:

I did notice that you do not recommend McAffee AV to be used
with TDS-3. I read the email that indicated that McAfee AV thought TDS was a trojan and shut it down... of McAfee they were referring to or if it mattered.

1. What AV do you recommend to use with TDS-3, etc.

2. My next question is I was planning to also use Cookie Pal cookie manager and ZoneAlarm Pro as a firewall...

Please indicate if there is any problem with running these additional
programs and what you would recommend.

I do not want to duplicate software efforts nor interfere with TDS-3
or your other progs should I get them also...

What software configurations do you recommend my using with
your products and why?

Cheers,
IgW

Hi Iguana Wizard and welcome,

If I can recall well, the problems with McAfee occurred with the whole suite (FW,script-blocker Pop-up killer and AV), so if you are only using the AV you might give it a try.
I had no trouble with TDS and McAfee AV together.

Hello Iguana Wizard and welcome!

ZAPro runs excellent with TDS, no problem at all.
In general people in this forum use often NOD32 or KAV as an antivirus besides TDS, WormGuard, Port Explorer, Process Guard And CryptoSuite.
The mcafee together with PE is an unlucky combination so your ZAPro or others (check the firewall forums for good advice on that matter, also for configuration of that on your windows version)
In the sticky threads here is a basic configuration which might be a nice guide for your TDS experience.

Hi Iguana Wizard ,
I use Zone Alarm (free version) and Sygate Personal Firewall, (free version) I do not seem to have any problems, I also run Reg protect,( free ) AVG6 (free) Spyware Guard (free) Spyware Blaster (free) and TDS3 (registered) Port Explorer (registered) and WormGuard (trial version) all seem to run quite happily together. The only thing I would add is UPDATE all your protective programs regularly!
