Hello Forum,
Tried to defrag using windows defrag but keep receiving this popup. How do I correct this problem.

Do you remember anything in the message, does it show up in the Event Viewer?
Tried to defrag? - mmc.exe application error?

It tells me it can't find c:/Program

Does the disk defragger show up here? Control panel, administrative tools, computer management, storage, disk defragmenter

It shows up in( Pick a task.) but when i click on ( Rearrange items on your hard disk.) I receive a popup saying can't find c:/programs.

Hi Ronjor,
when i got into safe mode i received a message saying that: Windows \ System 32\ Config\ System is missing or corrupt.I was not able to bring windows back on, even when i tried my recovery progam.Had to do a totall re-install.Everything is back to normal now.Windows defrag is also working.

Here is a defrag program thats works in Vista and XP. I am useing it in Vista and it works just great and it is free.
