Hello!
I have hotmail and gmail accounts. I want to get e-mails from both to a one e-mail client. Is there any better FREE ones out there than Thunderbird?

Hi Kristian,{QUOTE-> I have hotmail and gmail accounts. I want to get e-mails from both to a one e-mail client. Is there any better FREE ones out there than Thunderbird? <-QUOTE}Better depends of your preferences, needs.
You could have a look at DreamMail (http://www.dreammail-europe.org/), Pegasus (http://www.pmail.com/) (although a bit of a learning curve at first), Sylpheed (http://sylpheed.sraoss.jp/en/), Koma-Mail (http://www.koma-code.de/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=6), Courier (http://www.rosecitysoftware.com/courier/) (although no longer developed) to name a few.
Lots of email clients to be found, whether free or paid.
Hope you'll find what you're looking for. ;)

{QUOTE-> Thanks Eldar. <-QUOTE}My pleasure Kristian ;) {QUOTE-> Features that i look for is: easy set up, secure and most of all easy to use. <-QUOTE}Best would be to try them out, so you'll know if it fits your needs. Some are a bit difficult to setup, others are quite simple. Same for the ease of use.
Secure depends on how you use your email client. :) {QUOTE-> Thats a nice list, i have to look into them and see what they can offer me. <-QUOTE}Have fun exploring the many possibilities and what they can give you more compared to Thunderbird. 8)

There is also Caiypso (http://www.rosecitysoftware.com/calypso/) - 3.5 is free and fairly straightforward to use

You mean Calypso. :)
Same as Courier, which is its successor.

These links may help - if "free" is important:

IMHO, Thunderbird has the right blend of features and easy of use.
Another client worth mentioning is Mulberry (http://www.mulberrymail.com/)

There are quite a few free ones, some do text only, some html etc. TBird is probably the easiest to set up and use, although I must say that for some reason I have just never liked it too much.

Nice thread here! :)
BTW, is DreamMail FREE? It sure looks nice...
EDIT: never mind, downloaded and installed. it's FREEWARE.

Speaking of Sylpheed is anyone actually tried it and got it to work with gmail or another internet mail service via it's POP3 client?
I'm working on it but so far drawing a blank as in "connection failed" after configuring it to the letter as instructed. I must be missing something somewhere. Times like this i wish these alternative email clients would make default settings for each one of these.
