Hi all :)
There was a STICKY post from the user Patrice about the routers setup with LnS. This sticky post was removed ...
Why ? ???

This link for that thread still works (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=9474).

Hi Climenole,
I've unsticked this post because my feeling was it was a bit old, and after reading some posts, some people found the post complicated. And actually I was not completely sure this kind of configuration was really required, for people having a router (most of the time there is nothing special to do).
If I'm wrong, and finally if this post was useful, I can put it again as sticky, no problem.

Yes, the post was a bit complicated...

But router needs rules for the UDP and IGMP packets, no?
May be a reviewed information on the official LnS FAQ will be better than an outdated post here.
Have a nice day.

I don't know, I've never experienced this directly by myself.
Looking at the other recent post about router, it seems some router rules are necessary sometimes.
Maybe a specific .rie could be created. But I'm not sure when and why sometimes rules are required and sometimes not. Is there different kind of routers ? or routers implementing protocols, and some others don't ?

It's seems it's not so easy. Look at this recent post:

At least some routers need rules for IGMP and UDP packets on NetBios ports...
