Have you tried this one? Is it good?

I have never used other than Adobe Acrobat Reader Free myself.

Thanks :)

Haven't tried it, but I DO have their PDFXchange 3, which I highly recommend.
You may want to look at Foxit Reader.
It is a MUCH smaller program than PDF-Xchange Viewer.

Thanks. PDFXchange 3 must be the full-version?

PDF-Xchange Viewer Free is supposed to have more features than Foxit Reader Free. But I will have a look at both.

If I use one of these alternatives can I un-install Acrobat Reader? Or will there be certain things I need Acrobat Reader for? Any issues using alternatives to Acrobat Reader?

Hi Tepe2
Absolutely.
Many here have shied away from Adobe Reader due to it's bloat, inherent slowness.
Foxit (can't comment on PDF-Xchange Viewer) is MUCH smaller/faster.
(Don't use it much, as my default reader is GSView, but I have Foxit installed.)

Yes, it's their .pdf conversion soft.
I'd suggest a search here. As I recall a thread some time back ragarding alternate pdf readers.

Thanks :)

I made a search and found a few threads.

I'm going to try one by one until I find the one I need/like.

It's a good alternative to Adobe Reader and Foxit. I'm leaning towards PDF-Xchange Viewer rather than Foxit.
Another option (http://blog.kowalczyk.info/software/sumatrapdf/)

May I ask why?
(I notice PDF-Xchange Viewer's DL is >10Mb, vs Foxit's 1.6Mb)

Both open equally fast, but Foxit sometimes has troubles with complex PDFs and/or crash.
Also, I prefer PDF-Xchange Viewer's GUI.

I noticed that too. Did you try it with some pdf you know foxit won't open correctly but this one does?

I'll give that a go :thumb:

My online-banking forces me to use Adobe Acrobat Reader to get my bank statements in .pdf-documents. So I have no other choice.

That may be the case for me too. My bank also give me documents in pdf-format. I soon find out.

You might have the same issue like me. If my online-banking doesn't find AR on my computer in order to print my bank statements in .pdf-format, it gives me a link to download AR. So I have no other choice.
It's not a problem for me and I'm not going to change my bank, just because it forces me to use AR. I have that bank since 1970.

The search for your pdf program is not invoked by your browser but by your bank?

That's what I said. My bank doesn't offer any choice than AR.
My online-bank has also its own message system to communicate between bank and clients. I don't email with my bank, I use that message system and it has a login procedure, that makes any keylogger USELESS.

I tried PDF-XChange Viewer free and it worked with my online bank. First I uninstalled AR. Maybe I keep this one.

Usually, they're documents with embedded scripts. Also, Foxit crashes more than the norm in Win-9x systems (GDI+ errors) when there are various documents open.
If I find a PDF which behaves this way, I'll send it to you.

I find a lot of free pdf-viewers.

But I would also like to know if there's a free pdf-creator which allows me to convert non-PDF file into PDF file.

For conversion to pdf, you may also want to check out Bullzip PDF Printer (http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php). Works well, free, etc.

Good thing: You ask a question at Wilders, and always get 3-4 or more suggestions :thumb:

"Bad thing": Never know what to choose, which is better. ;D ;D
