View Full Version : Scheduled backup stalls

If I run an interactive incremental backup by running a scheduled backup it works fine.
However the same backup when run at it's scheduled time (3:00am) stalls and just sits at 0%.
The computer is not sleeping but the external drives (firewire) may well be.
What could be the cause and how do we fix this?

I would first of all eliminate the external drives by changing the schedule to make an image to the internal drive.

Not possible the drive doesn't have the space to a do a backup of itself on itself.

Can't you do a files/folders backup rather than an image backup using just one small file ?
You should test that this still fails on the external drive first.

Hello jimvaughan,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).
Could you please follow foghorne advice and try to schedule a file-based backup (back up several files\folders) to a local drive and see if the issue persists?
First of all, please make sure you use the latest build (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/) of the appropriate version of Acronis True Image. To get access to updates you should first register (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/registration/) your software.
If the issue persists, please perform the actions described in this previous post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=689115&postcount=2) that should solve the issue.
Thank you.
