Hello Everyone

We are using 98SE and Outpost Firewall but we speak to XP users regularly and we want to tell them the firewall in XP is insufficient. No one in-the-know uses it seriously (that we know) as their exclusive firewall but since we do not use XP on this computer can someone let us know just how insufficient the firewlall in XP really is? For starters we have heard that it does not stop undesireable outbound traffic. Any comments are gladly appreciated.

Thank you.

Indeed XP firewall has no outbound filtering, and no outbound application filtering, even a simple packet filter is better than XP firewall.

Hi QSection - I use WinXP and do not rely on the XP firewall because it is inadequate - instal a good firewall that protects you both incoming and outgoing. My preference is ZoneAlarm Pro but the freebie is good, so is
Sygate and a few others.
